The "Thirteenth Five-Year Development Guiding Opinions for China's Wire and Cable Industry" (referred to as "Opinions") compiled by the China Electrical Equipment Industry Association has been initially completed. In March this year, the Wire and Cable Branch of the China Electrical Equipment Industry Association initiated the preparation of the "Opinions", which has been basically completed. Despite the huge market space in the entire industry, special cables with large demand have always been a shortcoming in my country, and the high-end market is basically monopolized by foreign giants. Therefore, how to upgrade the technical level of domestic cable manufacturers and open up the high-end market is an important issue that needs to be considered during the "13th Five-Year Plan" period.

People from the association stated that the wire and cable industry in the 13th Five-Year Plan period must rely heavily on technological innovation, with the theme of digital and intelligent manufacturing, to seize the commanding heights of international industrial competition and seek the initiative for future development.

Wu Shimin, executive deputy secretary-general of the Wire and Cable Branch of the China Electrical Equipment Industry Association and deputy director of the Shanghai Cable Research Institute Information Exhibition Center, believes that the "13th Five-Year Plan" should focus on the deployment of innovation chains around the industrial chain, and arrange capital chains around the innovation chain, and ultimately improve the industry’s value chain At the same time, conform to the trend of transformation and innovation development, and consolidate the foundation for development; strengthen the protection of intellectual property rights, and accelerate the pace of standardization reform and innovation.
