The "Guiding Opinions on the Development of China's Wire and Cable Industry during the 13th Five-Year Plan Period" (hereinafter referred to as the "Opinions"), compiled by the China Electrical Equipment Industry Association, has been preliminarily completed. According to the "Opinions," the overall trend of the industry during the 13th Five-Year Plan Period is a slowdown in growth, and enterprises urgently need to seek technological high ground.
In March this year, the Wire and Cable Branch of the China Electrical Equipment Industry Association launched the compilation of the "Opinions," which has now been basically completed. Association personnel predict that the overall growth trend of the industry during the 13th Five-Year Plan Period will slow down, while the central region, which radiates and connects the east and west, is expected to maintain relatively rapid development.
Although the market space for the entire industry is huge, special cables with large demand have always been a shortcoming in China, and the high-end market is basically monopolized by foreign giants. Therefore, how domestic cable manufacturers can improve their technological level and open up the high-end market is an important issue that needs to be considered during the 13th Five-Year Plan Period.
Association personnel said that during the 13th Five-Year Plan Period, the wire and cable industry should vigorously rely on technological innovation, taking digital and intelligent manufacturing as the theme, seizing the commanding heights of international industrial competition, and seeking the initiative in future development.
Wu Shimin, executive vice secretary-general of the Wire and Cable Branch of the China Electrical Equipment Industry Association and deputy director of the Information and Exhibition Center of the Shanghai Cable Research Institute, believes that during the 13th Five-Year Plan Period, we should deploy innovation chains around industrial chains, arrange capital chains around innovation chains, and ultimately improve the industry's position in the value chain; at the same time, we should follow the trend of transformation and innovative development, consolidate the foundation for development; strengthen intellectual property protection, and accelerate the pace of standardization reform and innovation.
